It only took about 30 years
I played in a bunch of bands between ‘92 and ‘00 in Alabama and wrote several songs that were played live. I started writing many other songs back then and recorded the drums and guitar for them, but never finished them. I’m finally going back to those old songs to finish them. All the songs on these albums were started back then.
“the vault”
Almost all of the songs that I’ve been working on lately have come from “the vault” - what I call the old shoebox I’ve kept all my old tapes in for years. I imagine the vaults that people like Prince and Gene Simmons talk about are much better - those boxes must be amazing.
not just old stuff
I am writing new songs as I finish these old songs. But since I’ll be releasing albums in roughly chronological order, by the time I’m ready to release the new songs I’m working on now, they may be old songs. Hopefully it won’t take me another 30 years to finish them.
